About Campus & Community Conversations
We’ve created this Campus and Community Conversation as a tool to help you explore, connect, and give feedback about important issues at LCC. The kit has two components:
- A physical, paper document that you can use as a reference, distribute, and refer back to for important information, and
- This online component that allows you to give feedback to decision-makers and learn more about the ideas being discussed.
The paper component of the kit will include all the basic information you need to participate in the conversation, including names and contact information for responsible parties, timelines, and methods and deadlines for feedback. Our goal is to put everything together in one, easy-to-reference document to make it as simple as possible to locate the information you need to schedule and participate in the work. The kit will include a list questions that you can use to gather feedback from groups of all kinds, both on and off campus. For example, you can take the kit to your department meeting, or to your community or neighborhood group to discuss and collect feedback.
By removing barriers to participation, we’re hoping to involve more voices in the decision-making process on campus. You can come to a live meeting, send an email, submit comments on the website, or write your ideas on paper and send them via intercampus mail; whatever is easiest for you. What’s more, if you don’t feel comfortable bringing the kit to a group on your own, we’ll help schedule someone to come to you and facilitate a discussion. We want to make the kit more convenient and robust in the future, so your feedback about the kit is invited and appreciated.
All kits will be posted, updated and archived on this site for reference. The email address for Campus and Community Conversation Kit feedback (about the issue or the kit itself) is conversation@lanecc.edu.
