Is the General Business Transfer program for you?

If you’re looking to prepare for your four-year degree while focusing on business fundamentals, then the business transfer program at Lane is for you! By earning your Associate of Science Oregon Transfer in Business (ASOT- Business) degree, you’ll be prepared to transfer and propel yourself towards a business degree at the institution of your choice. The ASOT- Business degree works with your schedule; many classes are offered both online and in-person!

When you’re ready to get started, just apply! Our Admissions office staff will guide you through the steps to enroll to get you started right. You can also contact Admissions with any questions you have about the college, to schedule a tour of the campus, or just to say hello. If you’re not ready to apply today, you can request more information on the program and we’ll get in touch to make a plan that works for you.

What will you learn in the General Business Transfer program?

The ASOT-Business Degree was developed in conjunction with the Oregon University System to allow you to transfer to an Oregon public university seamlessly as a junior. By earning your degree, you’ll meet the general education requirements at most four-year institutions, while still being able to focus on your passion for business. In addition to a core business curriculum, you’ll take courses in science, math, writing, social sciences, and cultural literacy. These courses will help you become a well-rounded individual who is prepared for a job market that is constantly evolving.

What can you do next?

Whether you’re looking to start your career as soon as you’ve earned your bachelors degree or you’re planning to continue on to graduate school, your two years at Lane will make sure you’re prepared for whatever comes next. No matter what your plan, our advisors will help you craft a plan to achieve your goals. Not sure what’s next? Your ASOT degree gives you the credentials you need to dive head first into the workforce.

Every student is different, so no matter what your goals are, you should talk with an advisor to craft a plan tailored to your needs.

Personal attention from engaging faculty

Lane offers students the best of both worlds: a wide variety of courses to choose from and small class sizes. At Lane, you’ll never take a class with more than 40 students, and your class will always be taught by an instructor, not a grad student. Our attentive faculty have real world experience, and they bring those experiences to the classroom! Because of our small class sizes, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your instructor on a first name basis

Get to know the General Business Transfer faculty and advisors

The faculty and advisors for the program can help you meet your career goals. They can answer any program specific questions you might have, and help you find opportunities outside of the classroom. Advisors will help you schedule your classes and plan for the future. You’ll work with them to create a term by term planner that meets your needs and goals to ensure you complete your degree. And if you’re planning on transferring to a four-year school they can help you take the classes you need to count towards your bachelor's degree.

Get real world work experience

When you’ve finished your degree and are looking for a job, employers are going to be interested in more than just your educational credentials. Stand out by gaining real world work experience through Lane’s Cooperative Education department! Through internships with local businesses, you’ll use what you’re learning in class in a professional environment, while earning up to 18 credits toward your degree. Many students have even gone on to work where they interned!
