COVID 19 Lane County Resource Update 2020-4-13

Financial Resources

Family Meal, a nonprofit founded in 2019 and 100% volunteer-run, provides financial relief to Oregon’s food service and agricultural workers in a medical debt crisis. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have allocated a portion of their budget specifically to food service and agricultural workers who have been laid off or furloughed as a result of COVID-19. Those who qualify will receive a one-time grant up to $250.

Drop-in Centers

Hosea Youth Services helps the at-risk and homeless youth of Lane County, ages 16-24, create and sustain healthy lives away from the streets. Their services include family-style dinners, laundry and shower facilities, personal hygiene, and clothing as well as medical and housing referrals, assistance with job searches and college applications, counseling, and tutoring.

New Roads Program (Looking Glass Community Services) provides transitional and independent living services for homeless youth ages 16-21. The drop-In center offers homeless youth food, clothing, showers, etc. Services include housing assistance, education program, behavioral health, and employment assistance.

Eugene Mission is a full-service wellness center for the homeless--men, women, and mothers with children. Services include meals, overnight shelter, clothing, toiletries, laundry, showers, household goods, furnishings as well as Assertive Social Services Case Management/Counseling and Life Change Relapse Prevention/Recovery Program.

Rural Program (Looking Glass Community Services) provides emergency shelter and support services for youth in crisis including assistance with food, clothing, counseling, and referrals. This program serves Cottage Grove and the outlying area.

Station 7 (Looking Glass Community Services) provides emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth ages, 11-17, family reconciliation, and a 24-hour crisis hotline at 1-888-689-3111.

The First Place Annex Night Shelter (Saint Vincent de Paul) offers night shelter, food, recreational activities, and comfort to as many as 20 families per night.To qualify, families must be registered at First Place and on the waitlist.
