The GLOBE Program
Science Outreach to the Community: The GLOBE Program
GLOBE is a mature international science education program designed to foster science learning in various environments about all natural environments. It facilitates student engagement in the Earth, life, and physical sciences, and came to Lane in 2013. Lane's Science Dean, Dr. Paul Ruscher, is a GLOBE Master Trainer and will be conducting numerous GLOBE trainings, partly online, in 2019-20 beginning in March that could be of interest to science and other subject area teachers. GLOBE materials are used in K-12, higher education, and informal science, mathematics, computer science, social science, and language arts settings - these trainings are open to anyone with an interest, particularly those working in Lane County.
If you are a classroom teacher, interested in implementing project-based learning using NGSS-aligned programming in the environmental sciences, GLOBE may be for you. See more in this brochure (tri-fold version).
