Florence

Welcome To The Florence Center

The LCC Florence Center is open. Our current hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 on Friday, but due to the fact that most staff are working remotely, office hours are variable, and we encourage you to call before any visit to our campus. Access to our North Building is restricted and it can only be accessed with permission from the front desk.

Spring Term Courses

Spring term began one week late, on April 6, and will end on June 13 as scheduled. Aside from some Health Professions courses, all classes will be conducted online. We will continue to provide updated guidance and support.

Faculty and Staff

Most of our faculty and staff are working remotely during spring term. In most cases, they are available at their usual office phone numbers during normal work hours. We encourage you to leave a voicemail - or send an email to specific staff as necessary. Our main office line is 541-997-8444 or 541-463-4800. You may reach our Dean, Dr. Russ Pierson at 541-463-4805.

Online Learning

As many colleges, including Lane, move much instruction online, some companies are offering free or low-cost services to help you stay connected from home. In our area, Spectrum (Charter) is offering two free months of internet and WiFi services to new customers in households with Pre-K to 12 or college students who need remote education—including installation. And Lane has created a number of very helpful resources for our students transitioning to taking classes online.

Event Restrictions

Effective until further notice, Lane Community College has canceled all nonessential events on college property—including here at the Florence Center. This applies to all continuing education events, classes and activities, as well as all college and community-related performances, activities, and other events occurring in Florence or at other LCC campuses and facilities. Where possible, arrangements should be made to postpone internal campus meetings and/or move to Zoom videoconferencing.

Lane continues to carefully monitor the COVID-19 situation and related guidance from the federal government, the governor and state and county health authorities, and we will update this informational page as the situation changes. Learn more about steps you can take to protect yourself from the virus. The LCC Health Clinic in Eugene is closed for appointments. Please see the Health Clinic webpage for all details.

Please monitor the COVID-19 page for all updates.
