Open Educational Resources (OER)

Open Educational Resources (OER) and other low-cost course materials make education more accessible by reducing the overall cost. Lane Community College is committed to the development and use of high-quality OER and low-cost materials.

At Lane, the term OER refers to a resource with an open copyright license that is available free of cost. To earn Lane's low-cost textbook designation, a course must use materials that total $40 or less. Read more about OER & Low-Cost Designations at Lane Community College.

OER and low-cost textbooks save Lane Community College students over $200,000 per term! Savings are based on a $100 national average textbook price.
