Helen earned her bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her master’s degree in Educational Policy, Foundations and Administration from Portland State University. Social justice is her guiding principle, and she is very excited to support students at Lane Community College in creating welcoming spaces that respect and celebrate individuality and community for all, while also providing education and support for student families with young children. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, making music, knitting, gardening, running, yoga, dancing, and spending time with her family and cats.

Katherine earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the New College of Florida and her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has lived all over the United States, but her family home is in Atlanta, Georgia. She is most passionate about supporting folks as they heal from trauma and engaging with inspiring people and communities to work together to end sexual violence and build healthy, equitable relationships for all. In addition to being the counselor for the GEC and Title IX, Katherine also facilitates our campus's sexual violence prevention work, and teaches the Women in Transition courses. Her hobbies include doing art and making just about anything, being outside in the sun biking or hiking, playing video games, cooking, and yoga. Her favorite things are cats and dinosaurs!

Gender Equity Center Ambassador Biographies:
Caden Carlson (He/Him) is a native Oregonian. Caden is a fine arts major who is into illustration/concept design! His favorite pastimes are hiking and drawing while in nature. Caden loves food, vacations and his car. Hispassion is story writing and character design.
Kristen Chunn (She/Her) is from Eugene/Springfield. She plans to get her degree in Multimedia Design with the goal to work in the filmmaking industry. Kristen hopes to direct and edit music videos in the future since music plays a big part in her life! Some of her favourite bands are Tegan and Sara, The Smashing Pumpkins, Kimya Dawson, and Billie Eilish! Kristen has a passion for helping and supporting her peers and community from a young age, so working at the Gender Equity Center is something that is right up her alley! If she's not editing videos or simply just watching them, Kristen loves to spend my time with her friends, enjoying the sun, and hanging out with her cat Amy.
Teressa Morris (She/Her) is originally from Napa, California, but has lived in Sutherlin, Oregon for the past 3 1/2 years. She is in her second year at Lane, studying Psychology. She is transferring to OSU in the fall, with plans to be a mediator. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, watching movies, and cooking. She is passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, gender equity, and helping people find their joy.
Izzy Queisser (She/Her) is from Corvallis. Izzy is dual-enrolled at Lane and U of O. She is studying Criminal Psychology and hopes to be a Forensic Psychologist. Izzy enjoys biking, skiing, photography, skating and spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite things include warm cookies, sitting in front of the fire and stargazing. She is very passionate about taking care of the Earth and giving back to nature!
Salinas Vanegas (She/Her) is from Portland. She is currently reaching towards her Associates in Drafting at LCC. She hopes to be a Drafts"Woman". Her hobbies include shopping, eating yummy food, bike riding, camping, swimming at the river, gardening and watching her favorite tv shows. Some of her favorite things in the world are her family, wife, and her 9 year old German Shepherd pup named Kitty. Her new found passion is gardening and something she has always been passionate about is makeup.
