Steps to Enroll
Step 1 - Admissions Application
Welcome to Lane! Start by submitting your application at least six business days before the start of your session. The last day to apply for summer term admissions varies according to the summer session you will enroll in. If you’re applying for fall, submit your application before 9:00 am Wednesday, September 30th.
Once you complete your application, you'll receive a confirmation email. Within one to three business days you'll receive your L Number (Student ID Number) and a temporary password. You'll need your L Number to complete the rest of the steps.
Complete the Admissions Application
To be eligible for financial aid, complete the FAFSA. Apply early, as it can take 4-12 weeks to process aid awards once all documents have been received.
Step 2 - Course Placement
Course Placement can help you ensure you're successful in your classes. While some students require a placement test to help determine an appropriate Math and Writing placement, you may also be able to use your high school GPA, prior college courses, AP, or IB scores, Smarter Balance scores, or other measures to determine your placement. You may be able to complete your placement testing and New Student Orientation on the same day online. For summer term, the last day to complete this step is 4 days before the start of your session. You’ll need to complete this step for fall by 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 30th.
Step 3 - Orientation
First Time in College Students
If Lane will be your first college you attend after graduating high school or earning your GED, you'll need to complete a New Student Orientation online. All online sessions are open to all students. New student orientations for summer term are ongoing. The online new student orientation session will be available and must be completed by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30th for fall term.
Students with Prior College Experience
If you've attended college after graduating from high school or earning your GED, or have military college experience, you'll submit your prior college transcripts to your advisor via email to get orientation waived. New student orientations for summer term are ongoing. The last date for you to complete this step for fall term is Wednesday, September 30th at 4:00 pm.
Step 4 - Registration
